Ohio State, Kansas, Pitt, Duke Take Top Seeds In 2011 Tourney

Ohio State is the No. 1 overall seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament and will be placed in the East Region.

Joining the Buckeyes No. 1 seeds is Kansas in the Midwest, Pittsburgh in the Southeast and Duke in the West.

Pitt is the only No. 1 seed to not win their conference tournament, losing to eventual champion Connecticut in the quarterfinals.

San Diego State, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Florida are the No. 2 seeds, while Syracuse, Purdue, Connecticut and BYU are the No. 3 seeds. Kentucky, Louisville, Texas and Wisconsin are the No. 4 seeds.

Kansas and Duke were also No. 1 seeds in the 2010 NCAA Tournament, while Ohio State was a No. 2 and Pitt was a No. 3.

The Final Four will be held in Houston on April 2nd and 4th.

North Carolina-Asheville Beats Coastal Carolina To Win 2011 Big South Tournament

North Carolina-Asheville beat top seeded Coastal Carolina by a 60-47 final to win the 2011 Big South Conference Tournament.

To reach the title game, North Carolina-Asheville defeated Charleston Southern in the first round and High Point in the semifinals.

Matt Dickey, who was named Tournament MVP, was joined by teammates J.P. Primm and John Williams, along with Coastal Carolina's Chad Gray, Anthony Raffa and Sam McLaurin on the All-Tournament Team.

The Bulldogs now advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003 and second time in school history.

Sanders, Covington Among Winners Of 10-11 Big South Awards

The Big South announced their 2010-11 season awards on Tuesday.

Jesse Sanders of Liberty won Big South Player of the Year, while D.J. Covington of Virginia Military was named Freshman of the Year. Kelvin Martin was named Big South Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining Sanders on the All-Big South First Team were Matt Dickey (UNC Asheville), Chad Gray (Coastal Carolina), Austin Kenon (VMI) and Jamarco Warren (Charleston Southern).

Martin was joined on the All-Big South Second team by John Brown and Evan Gordon (Liberty), Nick Barbour (High Point) and J.P. Primm (UNC Asheville).

Covington was joined on the Big South All-Freshman Team by teammate Rodney Glasgow, Luke Davis (Gardner-Webb), Jareal Smith (Radford) and Sheldon Strickland (Charleston Southern).
